Graduate Work stream

Australian Visa Student Visa

Australian Visa Student Visa is for international students who have recently graduated with skills and qualifications that are relevant to specific occupations in Australia needs. It lets you live, study and work in Australia temporarily.

  • You can work in Australia.
  • Have a qualification relevant to an occupation on the skilled occupation list.
  • You can bring your family with you.
Usually up to 18 months.

Post-Study Work stream

This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with a degree from an Australian institution. It lets you live, work and study in Australia, temporarily.

  • You can work in Australia.
  • You can bring your family with you.
  • You need a recent degree a CRICOS-registered course.
Usually between 2 and 4 years, depending on your qualification.

Australia Work Visa

Short-term stream

This visa enables employers to address labour shortages by bringing in genuinely skilled workers where employers can’t source an appropriately skilled Australian.

  • The occupation is on the short-term skilled occupations list
You can stay for up to 2 years or up to 4 if an International Trade Obligation (ITO) applies.

Medium-term stream

This visa lets skilled people with a relevant occupation work in Australia for an employer who can’t find an Australian to do the work.

  • Your occupation is on either the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Regional Occupation List (ROL)
  • You can work in Australia for up to four years.

Labour agreement stream

This visa is for skilled workers nominated by employers with a Labour Agreement. It lets you live and work in the Australian Visa temporarily.

  • Your employer has to have a labour agreement.
Up to a maximum of 4 years, depending on the terms in the labour agreement.

  • 75% of applications: 14 days
  • 90% of applications: 54 days

Subsequent entrant

This visa enables genuinely skilled workers brought in to address labour shortages to bring their family. It is for family members of subclass 482 and 457 visa holders

Points tested stream

This visa lets invited workers with skills we need live and work permanently anywhere in Australia.
